Hively Raises $25k For Its Customer Feedback Platform

hively

Hively, a Portland based startup launched in September 2011, has just raised $25k from the Portland Seed Fund for a feedback platform that helps businesses engage better with its customers.

The startup makes it easy for business owners to quantify customer satisfaction. As any business owner will tell you, customer feedback is a vital cog in the business machinery that unfortunately, goes unoiled far too often, leading to low satisfaction and high attrition rates. You can gather feedback through surveys, but most customers would scram at the very mention of the word.

Hively is trying to solve this problem with a nifty little app that sits in your email signature or on a separate web page. Instead of a long and intimidating survey, customers can click on one of the three smiley icons and record their feedback anonymously. Team members receive points with every customer rating, all of which can be gauged and measured from a central hub. A leaderboard with team member scores promotes competition and enhances morale.

Hively integrates with Outlook, Gmail, Yahoo Mail, as well as SalesForce, ZenDesk, and virtually every other CRM and ticket tracking system.

A service like this needs to be dead simple to use to succeed. Customers shouldn’t have to click more than a couple of times to record feedback, nor should business owners have to spend hours measuring team performance and gauging overall customer satisfaction. Hively itself claims that you can get up and running within three minutes. Once you’ve set up a new project, you can add new members with a few clicks, copy and paste the rating snippet into your CRM, email or ticket tracking tool, and start receiving customer feedback instantly. From the customer’s perspective, offering feedback is anonymous and requires a single click.

Additionally, customers can leave optional comments on their feedback. Businesses can also direct customers down different engagement funnels based on ratings received for enhanced engagement.

Hively is free to use for up to three members, and goes up to $349/month for unlimited members. The free version is a good place to get started with the service and see if it fits your needs. Give it a try and tell us what you think.

Thanks for the excellent post on Hively. You summarized it very well. Just to add – customers can (and most often do) leave additional comments and details on their feedback. You can also direct customers down different engagement funnels based on the rating type they leave. These engagement funnels can display different messages and calls to action.

Stay tuned…our roadmap has a lot of other great features comings soon! Thanks again!
